Why NANER

Snacks shouldn’t be a jaw workout.

Most protein bars are dense, chewy and gone in four grim bites. We wanted the opposite: something soft, easy to bite and easy to like, the way a ripe banana is.

So we started with texture. Every NANER begins with a soft, banana-like center, then we build the flavor around it. Banana Bread. PB & Banana. Chocolate Banana.

The lineup

One soft center. Two ways to eat it.

The NANER Protein bar comes first. Our allulose and banana baking sweetener follows.

Why banana, why allulose

An allulose and upcycled banana baking sweetener with about two-thirds fewer calories than sugar, matched for sweetness.

Some bananas never reach a store shelf because they are the wrong size, too ripe or marked. NANER is a baking sweetener made mostly of allulose, with 15% dried banana from fruit that would otherwise go to waste.

01 · THE MATH

Matched for sweetness

About two-thirds fewer calories than the sugar it replaces, matched for sweetness. Here is the math: a 12 g serving of NANER has about 10 calories; the 8 g of sugar it replaces has about 30.

02 · ALLULOSE

What allulose is

Allulose is a rare sugar that FDA lets brands count at 0.4 calories per gram. Large amounts can upset some stomachs.

03 · UPCYCLED

Straight talk: NANER contains allulose, a rare sugar, plus a little natural banana sugar. Every serving shows its calories and carbs on the label.

Draft copy, pending counsel review. Calorie numbers and the 15% banana share are estimates for the lead formula and will be confirmed by lab testing before launch.

FAQ

Good questions.

When does NANER launch?

We’re developing the recipes and running taste tests now. The NANER Protein bar and Drops come first, then our baking sweetener. Join the list and you’ll hear the date before anyone else.

What does “soft center” mean?

The inside of every NANER is made to have a soft, banana-like texture: easy to bite, easy to chew. The flavor changes by variety; the soft center doesn’t.

What’s the difference between the bar and Drops?

Same flavors, same soft center. The bar is one full bar. Drops are bite-size pieces in a resealable pouch, so you can have a few now and save the rest.

What is allulose?

Allulose is a rare sugar that FDA lets brands count at 0.4 calories per gram. Large amounts can upset some stomachs. Straight talk: NANER contains allulose, a rare sugar, plus a little natural banana sugar. Every serving shows its calories and carbs on the label.

How do I bake with the NANER sweetener?

Use about 1 1/2 times the amount of sugar. It browns and caramelizes in your baking. Recipe guidance will come with the launch. (Draft, pending counsel review; the amount is an estimate.)
